2012 showcase

The ambition of caravan 2012 is to enable 20 English companies to develop an international audience for their work. caravan aims to raise the public’s perception of the range and quality of performance being made in England and build national and international confidence in the quality of work originating from England.

We intend that caravan builds upon the international audience for Brighton Festival and so raise the profile of both the festival and England’s artists. caravan will encourage international collaborations and exchanges by building long term relationships between caravan, Brighton Festival and promoters from across the world.

caravan 2012 intends to draw work from across England, supported by a series of open training symposiums to be held in Bristol, Brighton & Salford, Manchester.  Alongside the training we will run a mentoring programme for the artists selected, to help best prepare them for the showcase.  We are looking to showcase 20 companies with another 20 within the artist/promoter exchange.
