meet caravan’s directors…
“Our ambition has been to create an informal event in which conversations between artists and presenters can happen, new alliances form and new ways of working explored. Our hunch is that this will lead to shows touring to new places and finding new audiences, but also that new networks might form, new understandings emerge and greater possibilities result. Making this happen has required an enormous amount of effort, trust and care from a huge range of individuals and partner organisations who share an affection for the idea that if we share our art we might make the world that bit happier, healthier, safer.”
Gavin Stride, co-director of caravan and Director of Farnham Maltings
Farnham Maltings is a creative organisation that works with artists and communities across the south east to encourage the greatest number of people to make, see and enjoy the best art possible.
“Brighton Dome & Festival is looking forward to leading on this exciting project alongside Farnham Maltings. Great theatre and performance is at the heart of what we do at Brighton Festival and Brighton Dome, so we’re especially proud to host caravan during Brighton Festival, showcasing the best work from across England. caravan 2010 attracted interest from all over the world; with caravan 2012 and a curatorial group behind it that is second to none I am confident presenters will flock to Brighton to see the work we have to offer.”
Andrew Comben, co-director of caravan and Chief Executive of Brighton Dome & Festival
Brighton Festival commissions and produces an ambitious programme of local, national and international work across music, theatre, dance, visual art, outdoor performance, literature and debates.
