The Rest is Silence
Created in 1999 by artistic director Tristan Sharps, dreamthinkspeak interweaves live performance with film and installations to create extraordinary journeys that are ambitious in scale, visually layered and popular with audiences wherever they are performed.
‘The Rest is Silence’ is an ambitious textual and visual deconstruction of Hamlet, inter-weaving live performance with live and recorded film. The piece will boldly juxtapose scenes, speeches and sequences from different areas of the play. This deconstruction will allow us to get between the cracks of the play to examine its’ themes and characters from a variety of angles – sometimes simultaneously.
“The cumulative effect is extraordinary. Unforgettable, actually.” The Times on ‘Before I Sleep’
“The performance takes about an hour, but in terms of impact and resonance it is transforming and timeless.” The Times on ‘One Step Forward, One Step Back’
“This is a fantastic piece of work ….a triumph.” The Guardian on ‘Don’t Look Back’
