Sue MacLaine is a UK theatre-maker, writer and performer. She is interested in creating performance that is challenging and compassionate in equal measure, and that acknowledges the presence of the audience. Each of her three works are inventive in form, poetic in language and full of wit and dead-pan humour.
Can I Start Again Please is about our cognitive capacity to process traumatic experience and the ability of language to represent it. Parallel narratives are performed in parallel languages (English & British Sign Language) which intersect, diverge & build to create a mesmerising mix of verbal and visual theatre.
